"AKA
LORENZO"
|
|
Hosford
was a fixture in the hippie country scene in
Santa Cruz in the mid 1970's and is still found
playing the dives of that area. He's one of the
great alterna-country MIAs, and the songs any of
his albums just scream out for a single-CD
reissue. The "AKA Lorenzo" album, in
particular, is packed with great tunes, including
"Taking Applications," "Kings and
Queens" and "Wimmin's Got Me
Swimmin" , as well as some great
performances by Leon Russell, and his then excellent
back up band Fly By Night.
